Family and Friends
I had an appointment with my Oncologist, Dr Redrow, on June 7. He concluded that I remain clear of active cancer cells and he plans no additional chemo treatments. My next appointment is in six weeks followed by wait and see for a few more weeks and then do another PET scan to verify I’m clear. In the meantime I hope to regain my strength and stamina so I can act like a normal person again. Apparently I have beat the terrible odds – thanks to the help and prayers of many many people. I have been astounded by the innumerable friends – some out of the distant past – who have sent me notes of support.
I have to attribute this success to a combination of things and cannot begin to select one over the other. The first is the constant care of Pat, my wife. She placed nothing before her care and attention to my well being. Then, there were the combination of the most effective chemotherapy chemicals administered by an excellent Doctor, a highly effective combination of therapy techniques recommended by Gerald White with emphasis on Relaxation Methods and then the Prayers for my recovery by more people than I can count. I would never start a journey like this again without each of these items as a part of the plan. I also must mention the extent of the support I have received by disclosing the support of my granddaughter, Ann. She called me EVERY day since December from her school to check on me and give me her love.
None of you should ever under estimate the power and influence you can have in effecting and the well being of a person in need of emotional and/or prayer support.
I do not plan to send any further reports on my status until there is a change or the doctor declares closure. I will then let you know.
